State Power Information Network website (www.sp.com.cn) has been constructed and operated by China Electric Power Information Center since 1997. It was the portal web site of former State Power Corporation. Going with the power institutional reform, establishment of two large power grid corporations and five electricity generation groups, the aiming of this web site had also been changed, and became the portal web site of the Power industry.

The website is aiming at publicizing the development and achievement of China power industry; committing to serve to power industry, power system and power enterprises; becoming all-facet, multi-tired integrated platform for publicizing and reporting the policies, reform and technology development of electric power industry; becoming a platform for communication within electric power enterprises; becoming a window for introducing China electric power industry to foreign countries via interactive activities between SP web site and users.
